"I don't need a real estate agent"
"I don’t need a real estate agent.”
I hear this all the time—and honestly? It is true…
You don’t need a real estate agent. You can absolutely transact on your own behalf.
Right now, there are two paths:
• You work with a brokerage and have professional representation
• Or you self-represent, much like representing yourself in a court of law
Both are options.
But here’s what I want you to think about.
You can change the oil in your car yourself.
YouTube will probably show you how.
Canadian Tire probably has the parts.
You can cook, why buy take out?
You can pull your own tooth.
You can self-medicate.
You can do your own taxes.
You can even build your own house!
So why do most people choose not to?
Two reasons.
First: knowledge ✨
Could I change my own oil? Maybe.
Would I want to take my car apart and hope I know how to put it back together? Absolutely not. One mistake and suddenly it’s expensive, or worse.
I’ve also seen the fail videos. Enough said—I’ll happily pay my mechanic to do it properly, quickly, and without risk.
Second: time ✨
Most people struggle to find 30 minutes a day to work out.
But we’re going to assume you have time to:
• Schedule showings
• Analyze pricing
• Negotiate contracts
• Coordinate inspections
• Source third-party professionals
• Manage risk and deadlines
All while protecting your financial interests?🤔
Possible? Yes.
Practical for most people? Not really.
And that is why people don’t hire professionals because they “can’t” do it themselves…
they hire them because they don’t want to gamble with time, money, or stress.
